Overview of CARMMA PLUS

The Campaign on Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Africa (CARMMA PLUS) is a flagship initiative led by the African Union Commission (AUC) and supported by UNFPA to improve maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) across Africa. Launched in 2009 and renewed in 2021 as CARMMA+, the campaign works to strengthen healthcare systems, promote sustainable health financing, and ensure universal access to quality maternal and reproductive healthcare.
